Lighthearted and Quirky; Life with L&Q

My inspiration for this blog came to me while I as taking a bath after a long day (very Pisces if I do say so myself). It was 6pm, my family and I had just gotten home from picking up the kids from daycare and my son (3 years old) had just yelled at me saying I was a “poop mom” (aka bad mom, which as you can imagine cut me to my core) for not letting him climb on the table to reach the TV. I told my husband I needed a break, which really meant I needed to step away from all my responsibilities if only for 1 hour and just decompress.

As a Pisces Sun, Leo Moon, and Virgo rising, my favorite ways to decompress include water. When I am feeling overwhelmed, lost, happy, sad, sleepy (all the feels due to my Pisces nature), I find myself immerged in water, whether that be physically or mentally. The easiest physical method of this is a bath. This is when I had an epiphany, I want to start a blog and share my thoughts, stories, learnings, perspective, everything!

I had been thinking a lot about my purpose in life and a recurring thought I had been having is, “there has to be more”. I am currently an accountant for a major tech company, and I love my job, but I can’t stop thinking about the fact that I am not meant to sit in a cubical all day every day. There is so much more in this life that I want to experience. I looked to my natal chart, and I have Gemini in my 10th house or Midheaven (I will dive more into natal charts in a separate post, don’t you worry). The 10th house is known to be where to look for your purpose and what career you were “meant” to do in this lifetime. Gemini is the sign of words, communication, connection, wit, fun, socializing, and love of new experiences or frequent change.

Digging deeper into this, I started searching careers for Gemini Midheavens and ones that caught my eye were content creator and marking manager. I have my degree in Accounting, and I love numbers, but it doesn’t fill my cup the way I am meant to be filled. Instead of going back to school to get a marketing degree, I just knew I needed something new in my life, something I could pour my passions into and a blog was the clearest option. So here we are! I am so excited to share everything on this blog and my goal is to entertain and possibly help people in some way. I am creating this safe space, dedicated to human connection. I like to picture myself as the modern Carrie as I am writing this. Thank you for choosing to follow along and please reach out with any content requests, questions, or even a wave to say hi. All are welcome and I’m pleased you are here. Oh, and if you are wondering, L and Q are short for Logan and Quinn, my two children that inspire me every day to be the best version of myself. They show me how to have fun and I hope to pass that along here.
